Once Upon a Time…We went to the Zoo

On their last day in Sydney we decided to head out to the Taronga Zoo. I had not been to this either, and since they had yet to see any native wildlife we figured this would be the best option, plus you get to take the ferry there and it was another beautiful day! It was bitter sweet, because I knew that they next morning bright and early they would be headed back home. We had so much fun seeing the Kangaroos and Koala’s, but unfortunately this was not a park where you were allowed to touch the wildlife. So no Koala holding for them. 😦 Truthfully we ran out of time. There is still of ton of things for them to see and do, so I guess they are just going to have to come back and visit soon. However, next time I think they should stay for a few months instead of 10 days. There you have it…it may have happened in April, but now at least it is on the blog. 🙂

Once Upon a Time…I Finally Held a Koala

While we were out in Adelaide over Christmas we went to a wildlife park so that I could finally hold a Koala. I was in love! I love animals, and basically wanted to take my cute little koala friend home with me. They are incredibly soft with sharp little claws. This was a childhood dream come true. As a kid my favorite animals were the koala and kangaroo. Not only did I get to hold a koala, but I also got to feed the kangaroos and wallaby’s!

Holding hands 🙂

I even got to see a few with joey’s in their pouches…that I and holding the Koala were my highlights of the day. I pretty much had a huge grin on my face all day long.

notice the joey in the pouch!

I even got to see a Dingo, which I now want as a pet, they are just such cute dogs and it broke my heart that he was in a cage. So…now I just need to find a way to make one my pet!

Dingo

I had so much fun feeding all the animals and getting up close to them. It was a great day, so great in fact that I will be posting more pictures and videos tomorrow of the native Australian wildlife epic adventure. 🙂
